High school students can take Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ courses and simultaneously earn credit for both their high school diploma and their college degree.

 

What is Dual Credit?

High school students can take Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ courses and simultaneously earn credit for both their high school diploma and their college degree. Courses may be taught on the high school or college campus by Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ professors. High School/Homeschool Official approval is required for dual credit registration.

Students are responsible for determining whether their transfer institution will accept credit from Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ. For detailed transfer information, please visit TransferU.

Who Can Participate?

Students enrolled in a public, private, charter, or homeschool high school who...

Have permission from the appropriate high school officials, and meet any admissions requirements set by their high school

Complete the entire admissions, testing, and registration process at Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ

Are a high school student (at least ninth grade) at the time of enrollment

Demonstrate the maturity level needed to be successful in college course work

Meet course prerequisite and placement requirements from the Texas Success Initiative

Meet academic requirements to continue courses at Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ.

Dual Credit allows students to progress toward their college goals without having to wait until high school graduation.
